Northwest Emergency Animal Rescue is your resource for information about technical emergency animal rescue. Founded in 2006, this non profit group will be providing training classes for first reponders and concerned citizens. We will also be available to respond to assist with animals that need immediate rescue from life threatening situations. Our goal is to have the first animal ambulance in the Northwest, and 100% of your donations will go towards that goal!
Over the past few years, the emergency community has had to respond to all types of large animal incidents. The principles of using slings and ropes for animal rescue are not new. The N.E.A.R. course strives to teach first responders to use rescue equipment specifically designed for large animals safely and efficiently.
Scenerios that will be taught include overturned and wrecked trailers or livestock haulers, large animals stuck in the mud, a well or in a confined space. It is not uncommon for good intentioned, untrained rescuers to be seriously hurt or even killed durong these types of rescue attempts. |
